The Focus Awards Level 2 Award in Instructing Kettlebells (RQF) is aimed at those learners qualified with a level 2 fitness qualification looking to be able to competently plan and instruct Kettlebell sessions.

The Focus Awards Level 2 Award in Instructing Kettlebells (RQF) provides learners with the extended knowledge, understanding and skills to be able to competently instruct Kettlebells.  The qualification will also allow learners to be able to prepare, instruct, demonstrate and evaluate a kettlebell exercise session highlighting the benefits and safety considerations to be considered when design a kettlebell programme.

 

Qualification Structure

To successfully achieve the Focus Awards Level 2 Award in Instructing Kettlebells (RQF) learners must complete two mandatory units  achieving a total of 4 credits.

 

Learner Entry Requirements

A learner must have previously completed a Level 2 Fitness instructing qualification other than this Focus Awards do not set any other entry requirements for the qualification however other requirements may be required by the centre.

 

Progression Routes

Learners wishing to progress from this qualification can undertake the following qualifications:

Focus Awards Level 4 Certificate In Physical Activity and Weight Management for Obese and Diabetic Clients (RQF)

Qualification purpose

QRN – 601/8218/0

The Focus Awards Level 4 Certificate in Physical Activity and Weight Management for obese and diabetic clients (RQF) is aimed at learners who are already qualified at level 3 personal trainer or equivalent.

The qualification will provide learners with the knowledge and understanding in order to have the ability to plan and deliver physical activity with weight management strategies for obesity and diabetes management.

 

Qualification structure/Rules of combination

In order to successfully complete the Focus Awards Level 4 Certificate in Physical Activity and Weight Management for Obese and Diabetic Clients (RQF) learners must achieve a total of 16 credits from 4 mandatory units

Learners must hold a recognised Level 3 personal trainer qualification or equivalent.

Focus Awards Level 4 Certificate in Physical Activity and Lifestyle Strategies for Managing Low Back Pain (RQF)

Qualification purpose

QRN – 601/8194/1

 The Focus Awards Level 4 Certificate In Physical Activity and Lifestyle Strategies for Managing Low Back (RQF) Pain is aimed at those learners who are already qualified at Level 3 for fitness instructing.

The qualification will allow learner to be able to plan, deliver and review programmes for patients or clients with lower back pain.

 

Qualification structure

In order to successfully complete the Focus Awards Level 4 Certificate In Physical Activity and Lifestyle Strategies for Managing Low Back Pain (RQF) learners must achieve a total of 15 credits from 4 mandatory units

Learners must hold a recognised Level 3 personal trainer qualification or equivalent.

Focus Awards Level 3 Award in Designing Pre and Postnatal Exercise Programmes (RQF)

The Focus Awards Level 3 Award in Designing Pre and Post Natal Exercise Programmes (RQF) is aimed at those learners who are already qualified at Level 3 for personal trainer. The qualification will provide learners with the knowledge and understanding to design pre and post natal programmes for individual clients.

The Focus Awards Level 3 in Designing Pre and Post Natal Exercise Programmes (RQF) is also aimed at learners who wish to attain a recognised qualification as a specialist instructor who can address the needs of pre and post natal exercise. The qualification is also relevant for those already working with pre & post natal clients/participants without a formal qualification.

In order to successfully complete the Focus Awards Level 3 Award in Designing Pre and Post Natal Exercise Programmes (RQF) learners must achieve a total of 5 credits from 2 mandatory units

The Focus Awards level 4 Diploma in Teaching Yoga (RQF) will provide learners with the skills, knowledge and experience necessary to become competent and professional teachers of Yoga.

The purpose of the Focus Awards level 4 Diploma in Teaching Yoga (RQF) is to equip learners both professionally and practically to teach yoga asana, breathing practices, pranayama, relaxation and concentration/meditation to students with a wide variety of ability and experience with an underlying knowledge and understanding of yoga principles and philosophy.

There are no specific entry requirements for this qualification, but it is recommended that learners will have been regularly practising Yoga competently for 3 years.

 

Progression Routes

There are no relevant accredited qualifications that learners can progress onto. Learners may wish to move into more specialist training such as Yoga for Pregnancy, Yoga for Healthy Backs, Yoga for Special Needs, Yoga for Children and Yoga Therapy.

Learners must have achieved a pre-requisite qualification either in Fitness Instructing (gym based, exercise to music or aqua) at Level 2 that gives entry to REPs or Personal Training at Level 3.
