The Focus Awards Level 2 Award in First Aid for Sport (RQF) aims to give learners the knowledge and skills to enable them to recognise and respond to injury and illness in various sporting contexts.

 

The Focus Awards Level 2 Award in First Aid for Sport (RQF) is aimed at learners who have already achieved their Emergency First Aid at Work and are looking to specialise in sport.

 

What are the entry requirements?

Learners must have already achieved their Emergency First Aid at Work.

 

How is the qualification assessed?

The Focus Awards Level 2 Award in First Aid for Sport (RQF) is internally assessed. Each learner is required to create a portfolio of evidence which demonstrates achievement of all the learning outcomes and the assessment criteria associated with each unit.

The main pieces of evidence for the portfolio could include:

  • Assessor observation completed observational checklists on related action plans
  • Witness testimony
  • Learner product
  • Worksheets
  • Assignments / projects / reports
  • Record of oral and written questioning
  • Learner and peer reports
  • Recognition of prior learning (RPL)

Evidence may be drawn from actual or simulated situations where appropriate. Specific assessment requirements are laid down by Skills Active and can be found within the qualification specification for this qualification.

 

What qualifications can I do after this qualification?

Learners wishing to progress from this qualification can undertake the following qualifications:

  • First Aid at Work
  • Paediatric First Aid
  • Anaphylaxis First Aid
  • Defibrillator and CPR
