Health and Social Care developments
Focus Awards are pleased to announce significant changes to qualifications that Focus Awards offer within the Health and Social Care sector.
The following Health and Social Care qualifications have been redeveloped to include new mandatory units that are common across all Awarding Organisations and developed by Skills for Care. The optional units remain the same.

The new qualifications continue to form part of the apprenticeship frameworks in Lead Adult Care and Adult Care Worker. The Level 2 Diploma in Care also forms part of the Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship.

New qualifications
Focus Awards is pleased to announce that we have a number of newly developed and accredited qualifications. Detailed information, including qualification specifications can be found in the links shown.
Focus Awards Level 3 Diploma in Instructing Pilates Matwork (RQF)
This qualification is aimed at those learners who are qualified fitness instructors and personal trainers and are looking to be able to competently plan and instruct pilates mat sessions.
This qualification will allow the learner to prepare, instruct, demonstrate and evaluate a pilates matwork session. The learner will have the knowledge and understanding of what personal trainers need to do to maintain health, safety and welfare in a fitness environment.

Focus Awards Strength and conditioning (RQF)
The Focus Awards Level 4 Certificate in Strength and Conditioning (RQF) is aimed at learners who are qualified at level 3 and are looking to progress into the specialised field of strength and conditioning.
The Focus Awards Level 4 Certificate in Strength and Conditioning (RQF) provides learners with the knowledge and understanding of how to improve athletic performance, through a systematic approach developing athletic qualities such as speed strength and power, as well as reducing sporting injuries.
Focus Awards Advanced Personal Training (RQF)
The Focus Awards Level 4 Certificate in Advanced Personal Training (RQF) is aimed at personal trainers who have had experience in the field and are looking to further develop their fitness knowledge and advance their personal training skills.
The Focus Awards Level 4 Certificate in Advanced Personal training (RQF) provides learners with the extended knowledge, understanding and skills to be able to competently personal train a variety of clients. The qualification will allow learners to personal train clients in different environments and with a more advanced requirement
Focus Awards Sports Massage Therapy (RQF)
The Focus Awards level 3 Diploma in Sports Massage Therapy (RQF) is aimed at those learners currently working in the sports and active leisure sector.
The purpose of the Focus Awards Level 3 Diploma in Sports Massage Therapy (RQF) is to provide learners with the knowledge, skills and understanding required to be able to conducting subjective and objective assessments, provide sports massage techniques to prevent and manage injury and treatment modalities to support soft tissue repair.

Qualifications in Development
The following qualifications are currently in development.
Focus Awards Level 4 Certificate in Delivering Physical Activity for Individuals with Mental Health Conditions (RQF)
This qualification is aimed at level 3 qualified personal trainers that have industry experience and will provide learners with the skills and knowledge to work with patients and mental health professionals in the design, delivery and evaluation of safe and effective physical activity programmes.
This qualification will be available for registration from 1st March 2018.
Focus Awards is also looking to develop qualifications in the following areas
