Qualification Overview

The Focus Awards Level 2 Award in First Aid for Sport (RQF) aims to give learners the knowledge and skills to enable them to recognise and respond to injury and illness in various sporting contexts.

The Focus Awards Level 2 Award in First Aid for Sport (RQF) is aimed at learners who have already achieved their Emergency First Aid at Work and are looking to specialise in sport.

 

 

Qualification Structure

Learners must achieve the following mandatory unit to achieve a total credit of 1.

 

 

Leaner Entry Requirements

Learners are required to be at least 14 years of age to attend the programme of learning, and be able to communicate effectively in English (this includes listening, speaking, reading and writing).

NB: This qualification does not include cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Learners and recognised centres should note that in order for an individual to practise first aid for sporting activities, they are required to hold a minimum of a current HSE-approved Emergency First Aid qualification.

Learners must be able to understand the requirements of the qualification and the informationwithin the qualification materials in English without assistance.

 

 

Progression Routes

Learners wishing to progress from this qualification can undertake the following qualifications:

  • First Aid at Work
  • Paediatric First Aid
  • Anaphylaxis first Aid
  • Defibrillator and CPR

 

 

Age Ranges

Entry is at the discretion of the centre; however learners should be 14 to undertake this qualification. .

 

 

Geographical Coverage

This qualification is available in England and Northern Ireland.
