Focus Awards Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Strength and Conditioning for Sport (RQF)

 

Focus Awards is the awarding body for sports coaching. Focus Awards is an awarding body known for developing high quality qualifications for example Focus Awards Level 2 Certificates in Coaching Strength and Conditioning for Sport (RQF). Focus Awards is recognised by OFQUAL, who are the Regulator of qualifications, exams and assessments in England, and of vocational qualifications in Northern Ireland.

The Focus Awards Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Strength and Conditioning for Sport (RQF) is aimed at learners looking to work within the strength and conditioning sector.  The qualification will provide learners with the knowledge and understanding required to plan, design, and instruct an effective sports conditioning session.  Learners should be a minimum of 16 years old to undertake this qualification.

To successfully achieve the Focus Awards Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Strength and Conditioning for Sport (RQF) learners must complete all 8 mandatory units totalling 19 credits. Focus Awards the awarding body for sports coaching does not set any specific entry requirements for this qualification but training providers or colleges may have their own guidelines.

Learners wishing to progress from this qualification can undertake the following qualifications Focus Awards Level 3 Award in Instructing Sports Specific Conditioning (RQF). The Focus Awards Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Strength and Conditioning (RQF) is based on the strength and conditioning national occupational standards and identified within each unit.

Tutors delivering the qualification will be required to hold or be working towards a teaching qualification. This may include qualifications such as the Levels 3, 4 or 5 in Education and Training, or a Certificate in Education. Focus Awards will however; consider other teaching qualifications upon submission. Tutors must also be able to demonstrate that they are occupationally competent within the sector area.
