Focus Awards Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Weight Training (RQF)

The Focus Awards Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Weight Training (RQF) has been developed in partnership with British Weight Lifting and provides learners with an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of an independent coach in Weight Training. Learners will how to develop participant(s) in weight training and understanding participants’ individual development needs.
Learners will also understand the technical models for Weight Training, understand the basic competition requirements for Weightlifting and Weight Training, and to be able to plan, deliver, and evaluate a series of linked and progressive coaching sessions.
The Focus Awards Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Weight Training (RQF) is aimed at those learners who may wish to coach as part of a larger coaching team or independently.
Learner Entry Requirements
Learners should be competent in literacy and numeracy to help with elements of communication. This is at the discretion of the centre as they may decide to use diagnostic testing methods to ascertain how they can support learners.
Learners wishing to progress from this qualification can undertake the following qualifications:
- Focus Awards Level 3 Certificate in Instructing Weight Training
- Focus Awards Level 2 Award in Instructing Weight Training
- Focus Awards Level 2 Award in Weightlifting
Learners should be a minimum of 16 years old to undertake this qualification.
This qualification is available in England and Northern Ireland.
