Qualification Overview

The aim of the Focus Awards Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF) is to develop learner’s knowledge, understanding and skills of paediatric first aid.

The Focus Awards Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF) is aimed at learners working in Childcare settings and for those with responsibility for caring for infants and children.

In achieving the Focus Awards Level 3 Award in Paediatric Emergency First Aid (RQF) all learners will cover essentials of assessing an emergency situation safely and administering first aid to an infant and child with various medical conditions.

 

 

Qualification Structure

In order to achieve the Focus Awards Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF) learners must complete the two mandatory units.

There are no specific entry requirements for this qualification.

 

 

Progression Routes

Learners wishing to progress from this qualification can undertake the following qualifications:

  • Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF)
  • Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF)
  • Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF)
  • Level 3 Award in First Aid Response
  • Level 2 Award in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillation (RQF)

 

 

Age Ranges

Entry is at the discretion of the centre; however learners should be 16 to undertake this qualification.
