The Focus Awards Level 4 Certificate in Massage Therapy for Sports (RQF) is aimed at those learners currently working in the sports and active leisure sector who have already achieved the Level 3 Diploma in Sports Massage and who are looking to move onto the next level.
The purpose of the Focus Awards Level 4 Certificate in Massage Therapy for Sports (RQF) is to provide the learner with the knowledge, skills, and understanding that is needed to be able to perform assessments, provide sports massage techniques, and understand treatment to support injury rehabilitation.
In order to complete the Focus Awards Level 4 Certificate in Massage Therapy for Sports (RQF) learners must achieve 19 credits from the 3 mandatory units.
Learner Entry Requirements
To complete this qualification, learners must have previously achieved a Level 3 Diploma in Massage Therapy for Sports or equivalent. Other learner entry requirements are at the discretion of the centre.
Learners wishing to progress from this qualification can undertake the following qualifications:
- Focus Awards Level 4 Certificate in Exercise for Managing Lower Back Pain
- British Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation (BACPR) Specialist Exercise Instructor
- Level 4 Cardiac Qualification
- Level 4 Certificate in Cancer Rehabilitation
- Level 4 Award in Long Term Neurological Conditions
Entry is at the discretion of the centre; however, learners should be at least 16 years of age to undertake the qualification.
This qualification is available in England and Northern Ireland.
