Qualification Overview
The Focus Awards Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF) is intended for learners already working, or preparing to work, in a paediatric setting. It is aimed at developing the knowledge and practical skills of learners having a responsibility for the welfare of infants and children who wish to become a paediatric first aider in the workplace.
The Focus Awards Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF) will provide learners with the first aid skills, knowledge, and understanding to enable them to provide effective fist aid care and management of life threatening conditions, illness, and injuries to children.
Qualification Structure
Learners must achieve 1 mandatory unit totalling 1 credit.
Learner entry requirements
Learners should be competent in literacy and numeracy to help with elements of communication. This is at the discretion of the centre as they may decide to use diagnostic testing methods to ascertain how they can support learners.
Progression Routes
Learners wishing to progress from this qualification can undertake the following qualifications:
- Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (FAW) (RQF);
- Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (FAW) (RQF);
- Level 3 Award in First Aid Response; or
- Level 2 Award in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillation (RQF)
Age Ranges
Entry is at the discretion of the centre; however, learners should be at least 16 years old to undertake this qualification.
