    John Thorpe was the Operations Director (Technical Services) for the Sector Skills Council (SSC) Skills Active for almost 14 years, working extensively on National Occupational Standards, Apprenticeships and Qualifications across the UK. He was also a Senior Lecturer at Sheffield College for 10 years.
John has a strong background in Quality Assurance and still practices as a qualified External Quality Assurer and External Verifier.
            
    Mike has worked in Further Education for over 30 years and, for the last ten years, has been an education and training consultant working with a large number of Colleges and Training providers on a range of projects. The majority of his work has involved improving the quality of learning and teaching to enhance learners’ experiences. Previously he worked as a manager in the hospitality and tourism industry for 12 years.
His spare time is spent doing voluntary work and his interests include cycling, rugby, music, cooking, and travel.
            
    Joshua Cole is an inspirational, visionary leader with a unique blend of entrepreneurial skills and business acumen. He has spent most of his adult life in the educational and social care sectors, holds a First-Class Honours Degree from Sheffield Hallam University, and is a Registered Social Worker & Psychotherapist.

He has more than 30 years’ broad and deep experience of operating at a senior level in a variety of commercial sectors, including Direct Sales, Recruitment and Training, Accounting and Finance, and Personnel and Human Resources (HR).
